Artists and Musicians in Recovery (AMR), a 501 (c) (3) private foundation was established in 2018 to present opportunities to celebrate with artists and musicians in recovery. The foundation’s annual event is Signature, an event celebrating with artists and musicians in recovery. Created by Betty Ewing Dicken, this grand-scale music and art exhibition was launched in Dallas, Texas on May 4, 2018 with over 450 artists and celebrants in attendance. The 2nd annual Signature event saw more than 600 celebrants in June 2019. The event features a live music showcase, several themed curated exhibits for the visual arts, expressive arts and various other interactive activities for all ages. AMR also presents other events throughout the year to celebrate recovery through the arts.
This year, given the circumstances surrounding our global pandemic and the resulting precautions, the Signature Event is moving online! Here, at Signature Live Online, we will showcase the same level of talent brought by artists and musicians in recovery. Now, more than ever, we recognize the importance of artistic impression as it pertains to humanity’s natural need to connect, and the unique gift those in recovery have to provide that connection.
