I have been an artist all of my life in one capacity or another, and writing is another form of my artistic expression. I dreamed and dreamed and wrote and made art for years, sometimes with great success and many more times with epic, embarrassing failure. Most of my shortcomings were related to the fact that I’m an alcoholic. When I got sober in 2016 for the second time I was afraid to use my artistic ability because it was so wrapped up, intertwined, with my using and drinking and penchant for self-destruction. But I worked through the steps, and through that process I regained my confidence and let go of the fears that held me back.
Art is a way of life. And for me it is a necessary part of my recovery. It is a way for me to honor my higher power for the amazing gifts he has given me. Thank you for allowing me to express myself, and I hope you consider supporting this independently published author.
